About ICAR-IIFSR: ICAR-Indian Institute of Farming Systems Research, Modipuram is a research institution under Indian Council of Agricultural Research located at Modipuram (Uttar Pradesh). The institute is mandated to develop technologies for enhancing the productivity and income through appropriate cropping and farming systems. The institute is also operating AICRP on Integrated Farming Systems with 75 centres spread in 23 states and 2 UTs. Network Project on Organic Farming (NPOF) with 20 centres in 16 states is also an integral part of the institute. The institute has documented the on-farm nutrient response of crops and cropping systems for 96 districts of the country besides working out the nutrient application gaps by farmers for major and micro nutrients. Basic and Strategic research has been conducted through NPOF and as a result organic POP’s for 42 cropping systems suitable for 12 states have been developed. The institute also played a vital role in formulating policy for promotion of organic farming in India. About Meerut city: Meerut is an ancient city with settlements dating back to the Indus Valley civilisation. The city lies 70 km northeast of the national capital of New Delhi. The city is one of the largest producers of sports goods, and the largest producer of musical instruments in India. The city is also an education hub in western Uttar Pradesh. Meerut is also known as the "Sports City Of India". The city is famous for being the starting point of the 1857 rebellion against British colonial rule. Holy places such as Haridwar, Rishikesh and Hastinapur are near to the city. During October, weather is expected to be pleasant with mean maximum and minimum temperature of 30.0 and 18.00C respectively. How to Reach: Training programme will be held at ICAR-IIFSR, Modipuram which is located on the Delhi-Roorkee National Highway (NH-58) and well connected by road, train and Air services. Nearest railway stations are Meerut city (12 km) and Meerut Cantt (10 km). Nearest Airport is New Delhi Airport (110 km). Objective: 1. To acquaint the technical staff with basic principals of farm management. 2.To upgrade the technical staff in different methodologies and technical management approaches to over come the constraints of modern agriculture. About the Training: The concept and theory of farm management, farm management by objectives, farm management in resource constrains, selection and management of experimental fields, climate smart farm management, resource management under integrated farming system, crop management under organic farming systems, principals of selection of enterprises for multi-enterprise farm, identification and management of pest and diseases in crops, orchard management, dairy, poultry and fishery farm management. Eligibility: All the technical staff working in various Institutes of ICAR. Technical personnel of SAU/CAU/ICAR funded KVKs may also apply for training after applying a prescribed fee as given below. Course fee: There is no course fee from ICAR employees. Technical personnel of SAU/CAU KVKs need to pay a sum of Rs. 5,000/- (five thousands) only, as training fee by demand draft in favour of ICAR-IIFSR Unit, payable at Modipuram. Lodging, Boarding & Travel: All the candidates need to make the payment for the lodging and boarding at the Guest House. They have to make their own arrangement for the travel expenses. How to Apply: Interested technical staff can apply on the prescribed Registration Form duly forwarded by his controlling authority with the bank draft for prescribed, if applicable.
