ABOUT THE INSTITUE Konkan Gyanpeeth Trust’s Konkan Gyanpeeth College of Engineering has been established in 1994 with zeal to create excellent technical institution in remotely placed Karjat Tahasil. K. G. C. E. is situated in Karjat which is center point between Mumbai and Pune city. K. G. C. E. is spread over lush green campus of 31 acres area hosting Pharmacy, Arts, Commerce and Science Institutes. Institute runs six engineering courses namely, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. Over one and half decade the institute has developed state of art laboratory facilities and well trained faculty. INTRODUCTION TO COURSE Toady new advancements in the field of mechanical engineering will not only open the new applications for the mankind but also protect the environment. Thus it is appropriate to understand the new methods in manufacturing technology and understand the behavior of these new materials or products. The nanotechnology plays important role in the field of mechanical engineering hence the nanotechnology in mechanical engineering needs to address in grater details as its impact in this field of engineering also plays a significant part in coming future. As current fuel prices are going up drastically hence there is urgent need to shift our usage pattern to non-conventional approach such as Bio-Fuel, Small Hydro, Solar thermal, Solar Photovoltaic and Wind Energy. This will help local ecology and environment as well as will generate employment and assures the social well being of the region.
