1. GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION OF THE TOWN AND ITS HINTERLAND

2. WHERE IS THE SUCHY LAS COMMUNITY?
Our community is located in the west of Poland, 9 km in the north of the regional capital Poznań, province Wielkopolska.
In the community of Suchy Las there are eight villages.
The area
covers 116,6 km2.

4. SUCHY LAS There are about 16.000 people living in the community
of Suchy Las.
Suchy Las is the capital and the biggest village of the
community.
-Suchy Las means „dry forest“.
There is a Culture Centre in Suchy Las where you can:
-take part in music or art classes
-enjoy concerts and theater performances
-borrow a book from the library
Next to the Culture Centre there is a swimming pool, bowling alley and a shopping mall.

5. Military area
A very big part of our community is a military area where the army has regular training.
In the military area there is the biggest lake in the comunnity which is called Jezioro Glinowieckie.

6. Forests
The forests in our community are rich in a variety of trees and plants. There are also very old trees.

7. Gogulec
In our area there are a lot of nature reserves like Rezerwat przyrody Gogulec, where it a lot of plants grow under protection.

8. Meteoryty Morasko
In our area there is also a nature reserve Rezerwat przyrody Meteoryt Morasko, where a metereoit fell down 5000 years ago . Now in this reserve there are 6 craters.

9. Góra Morasko
Our community is situated in a lowland area. There are no big hills. The biggest one Góra Morasko is 153 meters above the sea level.

10. Warta
Along the borders of our community flows the Warta river. It is 808,2 km long which makes it the third longest river in Poland.

11. Climate
The average temperature in January is -2 degrees, but sometimes this temperature is much lower. It snows in winter but not too much.
In July the average temperature is more than 20 degrees and in summer there are a lot of sunny days when
the temperature is
more than 20 degrees.
