1 March 7, 2017 City of Pasadena Primary Nominating Election Results

2 BACKGROUND City of Pasadena held its Primary Nominating Election on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 for City Council Districts 3, 5, and 7. Pasadena City Charter, Section 1204, provides that, “Any person who, at the primary election, shall receive a majority of the total vote cast for candidates for said office shall be elected to such office.”

3 CERTIFICATE OF CANVASS AND RESOLUTION DECLARING ELECTION RESULTS
John J. Kennedy, having received 100% of the total votes cast for District 3, is re-elected as member of the City Council, representing District 3 for a full term of four years Victor M. Gordo, having received 63.5% of the total votes cast for District 5, is re-elected as member of the City Council, representing District 5 for a full term of four years

4 CERTIFICATE OF CANVASS AND RESOLUTION DECLARING ELECTION RESULTS
In the City Council District 7 race, of the five candidates running for this office, no one received a 50% plus one majority of the total votes cast The two candidates receiving the highest number of votes cast are Phil Hosp (41.4%) and Andy Wilson (42.5%) In accordance with City Charter, Section 1204, only their names will appear on the General Municipal Election ballot, which will be held on April 18, 2017 for City Council District 7

5 PUSD CANVASS RESULTS Pursuant to the City Charter, the Pasadena Unified School District’s Board of Education election for Districts 1, 3, 5, and 7 was consolidated with the City of Pasadena’s Primary Nominating election. The Official Canvass results for the PUSD election have been forwarded to the Board of Education. The results are as follows: Kimberly Kenne District 1 (62.3%) Michelle Richardson Bailey District 3 (57.4%) Elizabeth Pomeroy District 5 (70.2%) Scott Phelps District 7 (100%) .
