4 A levels 2012: a successful 6 th Form 51% A*- B grades Average over 390 UCAS points per student – average University offer 260 points Well above average for grammar schools in Kent and Medway

5 Minimum entry requirements Five GCSE passes at grades A*- C of which four should be at least grade B Four B grades and one C grade the normal minimum entry requirement English and Maths at C or higher a necessity for jobs and university Need to aim high for A*/A grades

6 Prepare now for future success Work, develop and achieve in Y11 Be keen to learn and ask questions Have a good attitude to school Be the best that you can be

7 Courses offered GCE Advanced courses Year 12 - AS Year 13 - A2 AS combines with A2 to make a full A level

8 Course combinations Most universities require: 4 AS courses in Year 12 3 A2 courses in Year 13 Majority of sixth form students will follow this pattern. Some 4AS and 4A2

9 Enrichment course - General Studies 21 st century National and world issues Cultural, social and scientific topics Carries UCAS points Included in over half university offers
