Could recognize people by feeling their faces or their clothes
Made up signs with her hands to “talk” to her family (ex. If she wanted bread, she pretended to cut a loaf)
Became frustrated and would throw tantrums

5. BECOMING SUCCESSFUL A teacher named Ann Sullivan taught her for years
Learned to read Braille
Went to college
Wrote a book called “The Story of my Life”
Became famous and traveled around the world speaking to groups
Was very successful because she was determined
