DO YOU KNOW THESE

Sun is the star of a solar system.

Moon is Earth’s natural satellite.

Commet is like a dirty snowball of ice, rock and gas.

PLANETS

Mercury is the smallest planet in the solar system and it is the nearest / closest planet from the Sun. But it isn’t the hottest planet.

Venus is the the hottest and the prettiest planet.

Earth is the only planet in the solar system that is known to have intelligent life forms.

Earth is the third planet from the Sun.

Mars is called «RED PLANET» because its surface is red
Mars is called «RED PLANET» because its surface is red. It looks red and hot, but it is cooler than our planet.

Jupiter is the biggest / largest planet in the solar system.

Jupiter has more moons than the other planets: more than 60.

Saturn is the only planet in our solar system with rings.

Neptune is the farthest planet from the Sun. It is the coldest planet.

It takes Pluto 248 years to go round the sun.

Big / small / cool / hot / fast / slow
Mercury is _____________________ planet. Jupiter is ____________________ planet. Venus is ____________________ planet. Neptune is ____________________ planet. Mercury is ____________________ planet from the Sun. Neptune is ____________________ planet from the Sun.

Astronauts travelled to the Moon in 1969 to explore it.

It takes the Earth 365 days to orbit the Sun.

LISTENING PART Our solar system is made up of a star – the Sun- eight planets, moons, a bunch of comets, asteroids and space rocks, ice and several dwarf planets such as Pluto. The eight planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Mercury is the closest, Neptune is the farthest from the Sun. Remember the order of the planets like this: My Very Educated Mother Just Showed Us Neptune. Planets, asteroids and comets orbit our Sun. I mean they travel around our Sun.
