Housekeeping – I’ll let you have the venue specific info on the morning Outline of the day – the morning will provide attendees with the opportunity to hear about the Practitioner scheme from a number of different perspectives, including from a Practitioner who has completed the scheme plus hopefully – time permitting – an opportunity for speaker Q&A. The afternoon will provide details about the EM scheme and an opportunity for Practitioners, Assessors and Verifiers to find out more; and for Practitioners particularly to begin to think through whether the scheme is right for them Delegate packs contain lots of helpful information and docs will be circulated electronically after the event Public Health Practitioner Registration Scheme Launch

3 Practitioner schemes Scheme purpose: Professional registration programme allowing individuals working in public health to become a registered Practitioner with the UK Public Health Register Professional regulation to protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of the public Benefits: Knowledge gain and consolidation; self development; validation of competence and skills; contributing to setting and maintenance of professional standards; system mobility Quality assurance - provides confidence in the professional competence of the public health This presentation will give a very brief overview of the Practitioner programme – a taster of what the other speakers will cover in more depth; and to reinforce that having an East Midlands scheme is a great opportunity Public Health Practitioner Registration Scheme Launch

5 The East Midlands scheme
The East Midlands scheme is the 11th UK scheme and is funded by HEE working across the East Midlands Lead coordination by PHE EM and HEE EM, overseen by a multi agency Steering Group A great opportunity for EM Practitioners to prove their skills and capabilities by obtaining a quality standard from the UKPHR Future East Midlands schemes are anticipated Steering Group includes representation from HEE EM, PHE EM, Local Authorities Public Health Practitioner Registration Scheme Launch
