2. Revision method - Cyclic revision

By the end of this tutorial you will be able to:
ALL: Describe how to use cyclic revision as a useful revision method.
MOST: Identify key questions in revision text that you need answered.
SOME: Find answers to your questions to improve your revision.

3. Step 1
Scan
Briefly look at the heading and the final summary of the chapter or set of notes to give you an overview of the topic.
Prime Numbers (resource 1)
2 minutes to do this.

4. Step 2 Query Create a question to answer For example:
Write down the first 15 prime numbers Or
Find all the prime numbers between 100 and 110.

5. Step 3
Read
Read through the chapter on prime numbers (resource 2) until you can answer the questions.

6. Step 4
Write It Down
Work from memory, but take a look at the book if you really need to.

Write down the headings
Note any key words or phrases with examples
Use your own words where possible
Be brief

7. Step 5
Repeat Stages 2, 3 & 4
With all of the remaining sections of the crib sheet.

8. Step 6
Test Yourself
Look at the overall layout of you notes and then test yourself by covering up points, recalling and checking – repeat.
