English: 4 credits Math: 4 credits  Alg 1, Geo, + 2 additional credits Science: 3 credits  Biology + 2 additional credits Social Studies: 3 credits  World History, American History, American Government/Economics HOPE (PE): 1 credit or waiver Fine Art/Eligible Practical Art: 1 credit Electives: 8 credits Must complete an online course for credit Note: 2.0 Un-weighted GPA & Testing Requirements

6 Graduation GPA & Testing Requirements (for 16-17 cohort)
2.0 cumulative unweighted GPA Pass Grade 10 ELA Pass Algebra 1 EOC Take Geo, Bio, and American History EOCs (plus Algebra 2 EOC, if enrolled)

7 Promotion (as of 12/7/16) To be classified as a SOPHOMORE by the start of the school year a student must have: Earned a minimum of 5 credits in grade 9 and Must have earned a cumulative GPA of 1.0 on an un-weighted 4.0 scale. * CONSIDER ADULT EDUCATION or LCVS IF STUDENT NEEDS TO MAKE UP CREDITS * Only students who have received a D or an F may retake the same course. Students must earn a C or better to replace the grade in the cumulative GPA.

11 Scholar Diploma Designation Standard Diploma requirements plus:
In addition to meeting the 24-credit standard high school diploma requirements, a student must: Earn 1 credit in Algebra 2 (must pass EOC) Earn 1 credit in Statistics or equally rigorous math Pass the Geometry & Biology EOC Earn 1 credit in Chemistry or Physics Earn 1 credit in a course equally rigorous to Chemistry or Physics Pass the American History EOC Earn 2 credits in the same World Language 1 credit in AP or dual enrollment course

In addition to meeting the 24-credit standard diploma requirements, a student must: Attain one or more industry certifications Indicated on the registration form

18 STATE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM (SUS)
Some schools use LHS weighted GPA while others recalculate GPA on academic courses only AP and DE courses weighted a full point; Honors weighted ½ point 3.0 academic GPA plus SAT or ACT scores OR academic GPA and SAT CR 460, Math 460, Writing 440 or ACT Reading 19, Math 19, Writing 18 To help increase the chance of admission, students should strive to go above and beyond

English: 4 credits Math: 4 credits (min: Alg I, Geom, Alg II, and above) Science: 3 credits (2 with substantial lab) Social Studies: 3 credits World Language: 2 credits, sequential, same language) Electives: 2 credits (academic or approved SUS electives) 2 elective credits from any academic area, AP course, or Fine Arts Up to 1 credit of ROTC Total: 18 credits Minimum does NOT guarantee admission into all Florida Public Universities

22 NCAA Clearinghouse Required for any student athlete who wants to play at a Division I or II college 16 core courses & test scores determine eligibility 10 of the 16 core courses need to be completed before senior year NCAA GPA IS NOT THE LHS GPA

Can be used at a Florida public or private community college, university, or voc. school Everyone who meets the criteria (and applies) receives the scholarship 3 ways to qualify: Academic Scholars Award Medallion Scholars Award Gold Seal Vocational Scholars Award

3.5 weighted GPA (only .25 weight) on the 16 required credits - may use up to 2 additional credits in required subjects to raise GPA, and 1290 SAT (CR & M) or 29 ACT (E,M,S,R) and 100 hours of community service $103 cr hr at a univ $71 cr hr at comm college **SUBJECT TO LEGISLATIVE CHANGES

26 Medallion Scholars Award**
3.0 weighted GPA (only .25 weight) on the 16 required courses - may use up to 2 additional credits in required subjects to raise GPA, and 1170 SAT (CR& M) or 26 ACT (E,M,S,R) 75 hours of community service $77 cr hr univ $63 cr hr comm coll **SUBJECT TO LEGISLATIVE CHANGES

3.0 weighted GPA (only .25 weight) using the 16 credits required for graduation, and 3.5 un-weighted GPA in a minimum of 3 sequential vocational credits, and Pass the PERT or SAT 440 CR & 440 math or ACT English 17, Reading 19, Math 19 30 hours of community service ONLY can be used for Career certificate & Applied Technology or Technical Programs **SUBJECT TO LEGISLATIVE CHANGES

Student use of academic planner/agenda Use a monthly family calendar Set up an appropriately titled for school use Create a School/College folder or binder where important papers can be stored together Document Community Service Hours Designate a safe place to remember important usernames/passwords for sites such as College Board Set reminders to check the LHS website for events and updates (and scholarships!) Join Lincoln Listserv Get involved: sports, clubs, service organizations
