Introduction Talisay Integrated School of Lake Sebu East District aims to commit each pupil success in learning with caring, responsive and safe environment that is free from discrimination, violence against children committed in schools, corporal punishments and bullying or peer abuse. Our institution works to ensure that all pupils have the opportunity in developing their fullest potentials.

Scope and Limitation This CCPP is intended for the pupils, from Kindergarten up to Grade Ten level included also the out of school-youth who are part of the community, teachers and other stakeholders of TALISAY INTEGRATED SCHOOL of Lake Sebu East District.

Definition of Terms Child abuse- is any form of physical, emotional or sexual mistreatment or lack of care that leads to injury or harm, it commonly occurs within a relationship of trust or responsibility and is an abuse of power or a breach of trust. Abuse can happen to a young person regardless of their age, gender, race or ability.

Child Abuse- maltreatment of a child, whether habitual or not, which include any of the following:
1. Psychological or physical abuse, neglect, cruelty, sexual abuse and emotional maltreatment; 2. Any acts of deeds or words which debases, degrades or demeans the intrinsic worth and dignity of a child as a human being; 3. Unreasonable deprivation of the child’s basic needs for survival, such as food and shelter; 4. Failure to immediately give medical treatment to an injured child resulting in serious impairment of his/her growth and development or in the child’s permanent incapacity or death (Sec. 3 RA 7610).

Emotional Abuse- the persistent emotional ill treatment of a young person, likely to cause severe and lasting adverse effects on the child’s emotional development. It may involve telling a young person they are useless, worthless, unloved, inadequate or valued in terms of only meeting the needs of another person. It may feature expectations of young people that are not appropriate to their age or development. It may cause a young person to be frightened or in danger by being constantly shouted at, threatened or taunted which may make the young person frightened or withdrawn.

Neglect - occurs when an adult fails to meet the young person’s basic physical and/or psychological needs, to an extent that is likely to result in serious impairment of the child’s health or development. For example, failing to provide adequate food, shelter and clothing, failing to protect from physical harm or danger, or failing to ensure access to appropriate medical care or treatment.

Discrimination against children- an act of exclusion, distinction, restriction or preference which is based on any ground such as age, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity, language religion and the like.

Bullying or Peer Abuse- a willful aggressive behaviour that is directed, towards a particular victim who may be out-numbered, younger, weak, with disability, less confident, or otherwise vulnerable.

Signs of Abuse 1. Unexplained or suspicious injuries such as bruising, cuts or burns, particularly if situated on a part of the body not normally prone to such injuries. 2. An injury for which an explanation seems inconsistent. 3. The young person describes what appears to be an abusive act involving them.

Signs of bullying include:
1. Behavioural changes such as reduced concentration and/or becoming withdrawn, clingy, depressed, tearful, emotionally up and down, reluctance to go training or competitions 2. An unexplained drop off in performance

Duties and Responsibilities of Faculty & Staff
1. Ensure the institution of effective child protection policies and procedures and monitor compliance thereof; 2. Ensure that the school adopts a child protection policy, organize and convene Child Protection Committee (CPC) for the school;

Functions of School Child Protection Committee
Initiate information dissemination programs and organize activities for the protection of children; Establish a system for identifying students who may be suffering from significant harm based on any physical, emotional or behavioural signs;

Interventions 1. Creation of board signages of the rights of every child based on Presidential Decree No. 603 for public awareness to be posted on different parts of the school/ barangay. 2. Conduct seminar/ workshop on the rights of a child and responsible parenthood to all the parents of Talisay Integrated School for their own welfare and awareness.

Policies 1. No saying of foul or vulgar and bad words with peers. 2. Avoid exaggerated physical contacts with peers. 3. A pupil especially on the higher grade level shall not intimidate, harass, and bully other pupils through words and actions.

Reporting The cases of abuse, violence, exploitation, discrimination, bullying or peer abuse and others will be reported using the form below (Annex “A”).

Documentation In recording the incidents or complaints the intake sheet below will be utilized (Annex “B”).

SCHOOL RULES AND REGULATIONS
CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE Like the law of humanity or organization, school rules and regulations are for the good of both individuals and the group. It must be firm that it may aid in the foundation of character. Enrolment is constructional in nature. When a student enrolls and admitted it shall be presumed that: 1. Agrees to recognize, accept and comply with all existing rules, regulations, policies and requirements concerning his school duties.

2. Rules of good order concerning classroom behavior must be observed by every student whether the teacher is present or not in the classroom. 3. Students may leave the classroom during class periods only with the permission of the teacher. 4. In accordance with the DepEd regulations, the Talisay Integrated School reserve to itself the right to drop from the school any student considered undesirable. The student is considered undesirable when he fails to give satisfactory evidence and active cooperation in all requirements of conduct and academic work. 5. A major offense is one which merit suspension, dismissal or expulsion from the school.

SANCTIONS/FUNCTIONS:
MAJOR OFFENSE First Offense To be treated by the adviser with the parent and the agreement will be recorded in the anecdotal record and the adviser will give corresponding punishment. Second Offense To be treated by the prefect of discipline with the adviser and parent, with agreement and one day suspension. Third Offense To be treated by the prefect of discipline with the guidance counselor, adviser and parent.

SCHOOL UNIFORM 1.3.1 A school uniform shall be prescribed for all students; shoes are considered part of the uniform. All students are required to wear complete uniform from Monday to Friday and P.E. uniform during Wednesday. 1.3.2 All students shall be required to wear official I.D. in the school campus before admission. Any student who does not have I.D. will secure permit from their respective advisers. 1.3.3 The acceptable haircut for boys shall be at least one inch above the ear and two inches above the collar line with not less than one inch and not more than two inches in length. 1.3.4 All girls should wear white blouse, checkered skirts, closed black shoes and white socks.

SCHOOL UNIFORM 1.3.5 All boys should wear white polo and khaki long pants with black shoes and socks. 1.3.6 Old students should start wearing complete uniform first Monday of June. (Grade Seven and transferees - first Monday of July) 1.3.7 Any student who does not wear complete uniform should be dealt with accordingly. Last warning and 3 days suspension. Note: Any major offense committed thereafter will be dealt with the principal.

MINOR OFFENSE First Offense Warning to be noted by the adviser or the
subject teacher concerned. Second Offense To be treated by the adviser with the parent and with agreement. Third Offense To be forwarded to the prefect of discipline with the parent and advisers consent. Last warning. Fourth offense Call up the parent and adviser with one day suspension. Note: Any minor offense committed thereafter will be referred to the guidance counselor with the parent. The principal will give the final decision.

Section 1. Authority to Maintain School Discipline
( D.O. No. 92, s pages 22-23) Every school shall maintain discipline inside the school campus as well as outside the school premises when students are engaged in activities authorized by the school. School officials and teachers shall have the right to impose appropriate and reasonable disciplinary measures in case of minor offenses or infractions of good discipline. However, no cruel or physical harmful punishment shall be imposed or applied against any pupil or student.

1.1.2.Suspension/ Expulsion (Sections 145 – 151, Part VI Chapter III, Service Manual 1960)
*For first and other offenses which are not very serious in nature, a suspension from school not to exceed three (3) days may be authorized by the principal without the prior approval of the Division Superintendent. However, parents must be informed by the teacher or the school principal of any misconduct on the part of their children for which disciplinary action is necessary. *For a persistent offender or one guilty of a serious offense, a suspension for not more than one (1) year may be imposed subject to the approval of the Division Superintendent. *Suspension for a school year or more or expulsion from the school can be ordered only by the Secretary. *In all cases of suspension, a written promise of future exemplary conduct signed by the student and parent.

Major Offenses: Gross misconduct Assaulting a teacher or any other school authority or his agent or students Smoking inside the school premises Gambling of any sort Drinking of intoxicants and liquor inside the school campus Carrying and concealing deadly weapons Extortion or asking money from others Fighting, causing injury to others Using, processing, and selling of prohibited drugs Hazing in any form or manner whether inside or outside the school premises

Immorality/ sexual harassment Cutting classes Writing obscene words, drawing, viewing/bringing pornographic materials Jumping in/out over the fence Caught with cellphones, ipods, portable DVD, and other gadgets ( students only) Instigating leading or participating in concerned activities leading to stoppage or disturbance of classes (demonstrations, boycott, rally, etc.)

B. Minor Offenses: Riding bicycle/ motorcycle inside the school campus (this includes the outsider) Loitering around the school campus during class hours Speaking/ uttering bad words Improper wearing of school uniform including the ID Wearing of caps/ hats , tubaw, bags and the like while inside the school campus except during dismissal. Having colored hair dye Picking fruits and flowers, digging crops and other school products without permission

Entering the offices, computer room, tool room,
library and etc. without asking permission from the concerned teachers Cheating and (during summative and periodical exam will be automatically given a 0 grade equivalent) Stealing Vandalism, writing on or deliberate destruction or destroying school property like chairs, tables, windows, books, laboratory equipment and others, the repair will be charged to the offender. Wearing of earrings for boys and multiple earrings for girls.

1.2 ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY
1.2.1 Regularity of attendance is required in all classes. Tardiness within 15 minutes is allowed. Five times tardiness is considered habitual, the parents will be called. After 3 absences without valid reasons the parent/guardian will be asked by the adviser to come.) 1.2.2 Attendance of students in special holidays, activities relative to their religions, e.g. Ramadan shall be allowed provided permission of the school head is sought.

Absences. A student who incurs absences of more than 20% of the prescribed number of class or laboratory periods during the school year or term should be given a failing grade and given no credit for the course or subject. Furthermore, the principal may at his/her discretion and in the individual case exempt a student who exceeds the twenty percent limit for reasons considered valid and acceptable to the school “Such discretion shall not excuse the student concerned from responsibility in keeping up with assignments and taking examinations where indicated. The discretion of authority is vested in the principal, and may not be availed of by a student nor granted by a faculty member without the consent of the principal.

1.2.4 Students who came late after 7:30 should be considered late and liable to punishment.
Note: *Students who came late will sing the Lupang Hinirang, do the exercise and one hour clean up. c/o the Prefect of Discipline. *Absences will be dealt with by the advisers. *Students who came after 7:45 will be considered absent without any valid reason as specified by their parents or guardian.

Section 2. CAMPUS SECURITY
2.1 Only bonafide students of the school shall be allowed inside the school campus. 2.2 No visitors shall be allowed inside the campus during school hours except for valid reasons. They shall be required to sign the logbook of the security service. 2.3 Parents/ Guardians should confer with teachers during their free time.
