3 What is an internship? 3-5 months, fulltime job Unpaid
Private business, public institution, international organisation etc. Function as part of the staff Conduct academically relevant tasks Working assignments: → assist in the daily work → conduct an independent analysis for the host company

4 Register for an internship
Log-in → personal data comes up automatically Fill in where to go and when Up-load application and CV → feed back from the International Office When offered an internship → upload internship contract REMEMBER To be considered for a grant you must register within → 1 March for internships in the autumn → 1 November for internships in the spring

5 Searching for an internship
International Office’s Moodle site Internet, newspapers, magazines Evaluation reports from former students List of former traineeship hosts Network; academic staff, friends and family International Office

6 Application and CV Internship agreement
Check the web for tips (incl. International Office’s website) Write few, but good applications Avoid standard applications Adjust/motivate each application Feedback from us Internship agreement Contact the International Office Deadline for uploading the signed internship agreement: 1 June / 1 Dec to keep the chance of receiving a grant. PLEASE note: NO grant guaranteed !

7 Practical information
AAU / ERASMUS+ grant application: deadline 1 March / 1 November Visa application Insurance (minimum health, accident, liability – 24H/7) Vaccinations Prepare yourself → Do’s and taboos around the world Accommodation: → to be organised by yourself → host company may have useful contacts
