2 DATES The dates of American Civil War are:
April 12 ,1861 – April 9,1865.

3 BACKGROUND Prior to and during the Civil War, the North and South differed greatly in the resources that they could use. Documents held by the National Archives can aid in the understanding of the factors that influenced the eventual outcome of the War Between the States. As disadvantages, the South had to worry about its slave population, which posed the threat of rebellion and assistance to the Northern cause.

4 CAUSES OF THE WAR The causes of the American Civil War are: Slavery.
Sectionalism. Nationalism and honor. States’ rights. Slave power and free soil issues. Tariffs. Battle of Fort Sumter.

5 Presidents The presidents of the American Civil War are:
Abraham Lincoln. Jefferson Davis

6 Generals Generals: Ulysses S. Grant. Robert E. Lee

9 Opinion We think that it’s too bad to kill each other for a cause they could have arranged in a pacific form; but we also think that the blue side fought the good fight because everyone has the right to be free.
