1 Welcome to the Higher Diploma in Health Science (Nursing studies) course.

2 Higher Diploma in Health Science (Nursing studies) course (3 years) Preparatory course (1 years: 60 credits) Higher Diploma (2 years: 120 credits) To be able to progress to the Higher Diploma students need to achieve an overall mark of 55/C grade in Preparatory part of the course and pass all the respective study units. Each study unit has a study unit coordinator responsible of that respective unit.

3 Make sure that you are accustomed to the Laws and By-Laws of the University found on the University Website.

4 Verification of Academic Qualifications and Requirements
Students are to bring their original certificates, original police conduct, 4 passport size photos, and student details form. Please call at office no. 30 for verification of certificates from: Monday 16th October Friday 20th October 2017 During Office Hours Students must submit the Hepatitis B result to Ms. Sharon Micallef – office number 2.

5 Please Note: Make sure to activate the UoM account and monitor daily any s sent at this address. It is also your responsibility to check regularly the departmental notice boards for any notices relevant to your course Students can access eSims by using their university account username and password.

6 Library & Lecture Rooms
It is important that students submit the library card duly filled together with the required photos. Food and drink are not allowed in lecture rooms. Disciplinary action may be taken if lecture rooms are found dirty .

7 Time-Tables Semester and examination time-tables can be found on the Faculty’s website.

8 Attendance/Exams Students are required to attend for lectures.
Should a student require any days off, he/she needs to send an to the head of the department and the course coordinator requesting leave of absence. Absence due to sickness needs to be medically certified. A sickness certificate should be submitted to the course coordinator.

9 Absence during examinations
A medical report form should be kept at hand during examination period. It must be filled by the GP if the need arises. The above form should be submitted within 24 hours of examination. In case of illness students are to phone the departmental secretary and to submit the medical report available from: If a student is caught cheating during an Exam he/she will be liable to disciplinary action which may lead to dismissal from the University.
