2 Expectations Driving to and from event
Make sure you have the driver list for each child in your car Usually meet at South Davis Nugget Must have turned in a driver form with attached copy of a driving license and proof of insurance Judge once every four events your child enters A parent may have a substitute that is an adult to judge in their place. They are responsible for finding this judge. Meet in judges room by 8:00 and sign in Accept any ballots (judging forms) that are handed to you Stay entire event including awards Food is provided, breakfast and lunch, (only for you) Help out in any other capacity

3 How does one judge? Different events have different criteria. Look on website: CAHSSA.org or nationalspeechanddebate.org Be fair and use your own good judgment Remember it is NOT a professional event Write comments that are helpful in boxes provided. Take notes and then write notes on ballot

Originals Debate Lincoln-Douglas Policy (team) sometimes CX Parliamentary Public forum Congress

What if everyone in my car is finished? Will I be alone in the room judging? What if I’ve never judged before? How will my child eat lunch? How will I know if I am fair? How long is each round?
