Identifying Triangles Use the Geoboard app to create different types of triangles instead of using the manipulative models. Identify triangles by their angles : Acute, Obtuse, or Right Identify triangles by the lengths of all sides: equilateral, isosceles, and scalene. Turn in your paper with a picture of your model with the classified names on it. This task uses: Geoboard Learning Objective(s): B. Classify two‐dimensional figures into categories based on their properties. 3. Understand that attributes belonging to a category of two‐dimensional figures also belong to all subcategories of that category. Use the Geoboard app to create triangles. Using the website , students will classify the different types of triangles based on the length of the sides as well as the angles. Students will write the names of the triangles on the Geoboard app and take a screenshot to be printed. Students will print their work to turn in. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): B. M Identifying Triangles Use the Geoboard app to create triangles. Take a screenshot of their Geoboard from the Geoboard App Record your work as you explain why the triangle you selected is classified the way that it is. Write on the screen as you explain why your shape is classified based on the length of the sides as well as the angle of their triangle. Save your ShowMe video. Share your video with another student in the classroom. Provide verbal feedback about their video. This task uses: Show me App Geoboard Learning Objective(s): B. 4 Identifying Triangles
With your group, create an iMovie displaying the different types of triangles. Show in the video the different acute, right, and obtuse triangles by having 3 students hold a rope and create the three different types of triangles as well as explain the difference between the three. Include in the video the different types of triangles based on the length of their sides: equilateral, isosceles, and scalene. Explain the different types of triangles by using 3 different students holding a rope and showing in the movie how the different lengths are either the same or different. Name your video by “Triangles and your group number”. Example: TrianglesG12. Save your iMovie. Tap the share icon and choose “Save Video”. The movie will be saved on the iPad. Log into Blackboard and post your video in the “Identifying Triangles” Discussion Board. Look at the video from the group you were assigned, and respond positive suggestions or questions.
