Dwelling Places is run by a lady called Rita. Dwelling Places helps children and families who are sad. The children and families are sad because they do not have a house or food.

9 Street Children... A child who has no home.
The child lives on the streets instead. What is a street child? There are lots of reasons, for example, One or both of their parents may not be well One or both parents may have died Their parents or family may not look after them well They may be very poor and have no money and no house People in the area they come from may be fighting each other and it’s not safe There may be no food or water where they live Why do children live on the streets?

10 Some live on their own Some find friends to live with Some live with family, like brothers, sisters or cousins Some live with their parents Do the children live on their own or with people? They find a place to sleep at night time, for example, Up a tree In a shop doorway Where do the children sleep at night?

11 They are sad. Sometimes they get, Hungry Hurt Unwell Lonely How do the children feel? There are nice, friendly people who help the children, like Rita. There are charities too, like Dwelling Places. Who helps the children?
