2 Hiring Lecturers vs. Hiring Students
If you are hiring a lecturer, a search or appointment type is required. A search or appointment type is not required for student appointments.

3 Timeline of Posting a Position
Step 1: Create the Non-Person Profile to either update an existing position or create a new position Step 2: Submit for approval- will route to Bobby Pinter in Central HR Step 3: Reviewed/approved by Central HR Step 4: NPP feeds to CU Careers (if box is checked) Step 5: Edit the draft of the posting in CU Careers (include search committee, posting contact, position description, minimum qualifications) Step 6: Save as Open & letting them know it is ready to post.

5 Non-Person Profile (NPP) Options
Vacant Position Update a vacant position- can use to send to CU Careers or hire someone via appointment type Update/Recruit Filled Position Update a filled position or send to CU Careers to begin search New Positon Create a completely new position/PN- can use to send to CU Careers to begin search or hire someone via appointment type TIP: If you want your posting in CU Careers left open to always have a pool of candidates, be sure to note that in the comment section of your NPP

6 Appointment Types One of the following reasons can be communicated to HR as part of a request to fill a position without conducting a search: #1: Qualified candidate is available from previous search. Must include previous search’s Job Posting/Requisition #, proposed pay, & a copy of the CV in your submission. Use this appointment type when hiring from a posting you leave open that gathers a pool of applicants #2: Promotional, transfer, or rehire of a current or former CU employee, affiliate employee, or state employee. Provide name, EID, proposed pay, & a copy of the CV in your submission. Use this when hiring a former qualified student worker or employee as a lecturer

7 Appointment Types Cont.
In your NPP, include the following in the comments field: Type of appointment (1 or 2) Name of person you wish to appoint Job posting number & title if based on previous search Affiliate or State Agency Name (if applicable) Proposed pay your ePAR number of the NPP to to request approval.

10 Feeding NPP to CU Careers
When you create your NPP, be sure the “feed to CU Careers” box is checked when you are entering the position description to request approval on your NPP Once the NPP is approved, they will you letting you know it has fed to CU Careers and the requisition is ready to be edited

13 Search Summary If you are hiring a lecturer from a search, you must complete a search summary. You can find the search summary here: Search Summary Template Send completed search summary to when it is completed.

14 PMR All lecturers who have been newly hired or rehired, must have a PMR submitted to PMR Instructions can be found here: PMR’s are due to Central HR the month following the hire, on the 15th.
