2 What are character strengths?
Ask for ideas and then hand out the colour photocopied sheet from VIA

5 Scroll down to the orientation day information

7 Register your details (using your school email address)

8 If you get this, choose ‘take youth survey for myself’

9 Start answering the questions (there are 96)
Start answering the questions (there are 96). Don’t discuss your answers with anyone else, you need to do this for yourself so that your character strengths are accurately reported.

Your very own character strengths report!! Number 1 is your top strength, number 2 your second strongest etc. Have a read and look at the handout sheet to see/understand your top strengths. SAVE IT somewhere/ it to yourself!

What does perseverance mean? If I’m not sure, how do I find out? On these pages you can see video clips that demonstrate that character strength, songs, movies and examples to help explain it to you.

18 What is the significance of this? What use is this for my daily life?
My top strength is perseverance. That means I won’t stop trying until I have finished. Year 10 camp Peel Forest. 22 students. 6 of whom had never walked for more than about an hour before. They had NEVER walked up a mountain! I WASN’T giving up on them. THEY ALL MADE IT TO THE TOP!! They were AMAZING! I needed to dig deep to use all my perseverance and patience to encourage them to the top.
