1 Mrs. Laura Najjar I am married to my wonderful husband Mark. We have six children and one grandchild. I graduated from Brenau University with Bachelor’s in Science and a Masters in Early Childhood Education . This is my 18th year teaching in Forsyth County.

Conduct Cards I will have high expectations for all students to do their very best each day. Please support these expectations at home by allowing your child to take responsibility for their actions and work. I really want for students to be in charge of their own learning, so students will be working with me to set goals and determine actions that need to be taken to reach their goals.

10 Nuts and Bolts Blue Folders – Please check these each night and return them the next day. Math Homework comes home after instruction. Most work will go home on every other Friday. Please review graded papers with your child and let me know if you have any questions. Communication is the key to a fabulous year. PLEASE contact me anytime you have comments, questions, or concerns. Lunch- If you come to eat with your child at lunch, please meet us down at the cafeteria door. We eat at 11:45. There is a table on the stage where you may eat with your child. Conferences will be October 18th and 19th . I will send a sign-up genius soon. BYOT – Class Link, Helpful apps (Wixie, Socrative, Voicethread, QR code reader) Mrs. Zink also has a list of apps on her web page (Instructional Technology) on SPES website.

11 Important Information
Please send all money in a sealed envelope or baggie with child's name on it and who/what it is intended for. The page protector in the daily folder (Notes and Money Pouch) is a great place to send in money. Please send any attendance/tardy s to Laurie Tuttle at Transportation- All changes in transportation must be received in a written note. , faxes, and phone calls are not accepted. It is very important to have the child’s full name, teacher’s name and car rider number on the note.

12 Homework Purpose Reading using strategies - 20 minutes per night (Mentor Sentences) Math fact practice STEM challenges and Math Projects Extra practice and/or enrichment in certain subject areas, will be sent home as needed Spelling – focus on patterns in phonics-written dictation. Weekly word lists will be in Student’s planner on itslearning.
