8 Audit Summary Attendance of children
Movements of two, three- and four-year-olds in the Kingsbridge area, Summer 2016: Children resident in the area Children NOT resident in the area, accessing provision in the area Net Attendees Accessing provision in the area Accessing provision outside the area Funded two-year-olds 10 5 6 16 EYEF funded three-year-olds 47 12 59 EYEF funded four-year-olds 19 11 15 34 Four-year-olds in reception 21 3 24 The table above provides a summary of funded 2 to 4 year olds living or accessing their early years entitlement; four-year-olds in reception classes are also shown. The figures apply to summer term 2015. There were a total of 16 two-year-olds in the audit area eligible to receive two-year-old funding. 15 (93.8%) of these children were accessing funded provision, the Devon average take-up figure is 84.0%. The number of children attending more than one setting is 3.8% well below the 6.7% across Devon as a whole. Of the 84 three and four-year-olds above, 66 (78.6%) were accessing funded providers in the defined audit area. A further 16 children (19.0%) travelled to funded provision outside the area. A total of 27 children travelled into the defined audit area from elsewhere to access funded provision. This gave a net inflow of 11 children. There was 1 three-year-old that was in a setting but was non-funded.

9 Audit Summary Conclusion
Overall there is sufficient provision across the Kingsbridge audit area to meet the estimated requirement for early years provision until the new houses are built by 2034 when there is estimated to be a shortfall of provision. Please note, the following could add further pressure on places: - The calculation of the shortfall of places assumes that the current provision meets the needs of parents and all places are full all of the time - The audit does not take into consideration parental choice of childcare
