The proposal had been sent to for Government approval 3 times but it was rejected. Next follow up target duration time is 2 Years (2017)

4. BACKGROUND & THE NEED FOR THE PROJECT
Malaysia is largest receiving migrant worker in South East Asia.
Most of the MW already form the Association.

- Vietnam
MTUC had summited the proposal for the approval (2007 – 2014)

To handling and organise MW issues collectively.
To have a proper data and statistic.
To get them a better “life”
To have better relationship with origin / sending country
Platform to increase migrant workers participation in Union and activities.

8. ACTIVITIES TO ACHIEVE THE OBJECTIVES
Identifying and Training of Union leaders.
Training for MW before their destination
Training on Labour related laws and Union Rights
Networking with local and sending country- civil society/ Trade Union partners.
Collaboration with Labour Attaches of sending countries for effective case management
Meeting with bar council for legal consultancies and other involve parties
