3 Mt Everest Mount Everest also known as Sagarmatha in Nepal.
Its peak is 8,848 metres (29,029) above sea level. It is the world highest mountain. It lies in the Solukhumbu district. The first person who climbed the mount Everest are Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 29 may 1953.

4 Kangchenjunga Kangchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world and lies partly in Nepal and partly in Sikkim . It lies in Taplejung District, Mechi zone, Nepal It rises with an elevation of 8,586 m (28,169 feet) in a section of the Himalayas called Kanchenjunga himal.

5 lhotse Lhotse is the fourth highest mountain in the world at 8,516.
Lhotse means “South Peak” in Tibetan . In addition to the main summit at 8,516 metres above sea level, the mountain comprises the smaller peaks Lhotse Middle (East) at 8,414 and Lhotse Shar at 8,383 m.

6 Makalu Makalu is the fifth highest mountain in the world at 8,485 metres. It is located in the Mahalangur Himalayas 19 km (12 mi) southeast of Mount Everest, on the border between Nepal and China. One of the eight-thousanders, Makalu is an isolated peak whose shape is a four-sided pyramid.

7 Cho oyu Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain in the world at 8,188 metres above sea level . Cho Oyu means "Turquoise Goddess" in Tibetan.

8 Dhaulagiri The Dhaulagiri massif in Nepal extends 120 km (70 mi) from the Kaligandaki River west to the Bheri. Dhaulagiri I is the seventh highest mountain in the world at 8,167 metres above sea level. It was first climbed on May 13, 1960 by a Swiss/Austrian/Nepali expedition.metres above sea level

9 Manaslu Manaslu is the eighth highest mountain in the world at 8,163 metres (26,781 ft) above sea level. which is also termed the Manaslu Conservation Area, comprises sub-tropical Himalayan foothills to arid Trans-Himalayan high pastures bordering Tibet.

10 Annapurna Annapurna is a massif in the Himalayas in north-central Nepal that includes one peak over 8,000 metres, thirteen peaks over 7,000 metres, and sixteen more over 6,000 meter. Annapurna is a Sanskrit name that literally means "full of food", but is normally translated as Goddess of the Harvests.

11 My experience on doing this work
I am very glad to have this opportunity to make a presentation on the mountain ranges of our country which makes our country a country with Himalayas. I would like to thank my social studies teacher sajana maam for providing me this platform and encouraging me to explore the Himalayas.
