The USA joined the war in April 1917 The US used the Selective Service Act to provide fresh new troops to the Allied Powers who were weary from 3 years of warfare The US provided necessary economic support for the Allies Saved them from bankruptcy US support starts slow but ends up being a major turning point in the war

Germany forced to take blame had to pay 30 billion dollars of debt Limits placed on the size of the German military Lost hundreds of sq. miles of land back to France Took away overseas colonies Germany had no choice but to sign Allies made separate treaties for other Central Powers

Germany holds a grudge New countries are created (Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Turkey, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Trans-Jordan, Hejaz, Hasa) League of Nations is formed to make peace in Europe **Write this down**

Czar of Russia is overthrown Russian Revolution creates new communist government After a great time of prosperity during and after WWI, the Great Depression hits the US (1929), and eventually everyone else.
