5 How Sixth Form Works? Vertical tutor groups: Tutor groups are a mix of Year 12 and 13 so as to integrate and support each other. We try to place you into tutor groups with your friends. There is a wide range of activities in tutor time; including games and competitions, support and guidance and development of skills needed to be successful in KS5 and beyond.

9 Prefects and Head Students
We have a prefect team, who perform duties around the school and who have a greater voice with regards to decisions being made in school. Head students: this year we have 3 Head Students and 3 Deputy Head Students. They have dedicated areas in which they input to the school. They sit on the school council and feedback to the Governors of the school. They also organise the social activities for the Sixth Form: Summer Ball, Leavers, fund raising and Sixth Form trips.

15 Process of Application
Know what your goal is: university? A Job? Apprenticeship? And know what you need to study in KS5 for this to happen! Complete your Application Form: Aspirational and Insurance options. Know the entry requirements for the courses you want to study. Discuss your options with Teachers, Friends, Parents, Sixth Form Team, Year 12 and 13 students, etc. Return the Application Form to the Sixth Form team by the 10th March.

16 Students say that the sixth form is a safe place and that bullying is very rare. Assemblies and personal, social and health education lessons help them to improve their understanding of how to be safe and prepare for life in modern Britain. For example, leadership opportunities include becoming a senior prefect or acting as a mentor for the younger pupils. (Ofsted 2016)
