2 How to Setup Comms between an EPC3000 and a PC, so that iTools can be used for configuration
Comms between a PC and an EPC3000 can be established via the RS485 port, the optional Configuration clip, or the optional Ethernet port If the configuration clip is purchased, the EPC3000 can be connected to a PC simply by connecting the configuration clip into the side of the EPC3000 and the USB port on the PC. This has the added advantage of powering the EPC3000 too. If Ethernet is used, the EPC3000 needs to have an IP address configured. The wiring and installation sheet illustrates the location of the RS485 wires and optional Configuration Clip and Ethernet port Configuration Clip Further information can be found in the reference manual optional Ethernet port Confidential Property of Schneider Electric |

3 How to set up an IP address in the EPC3000 via the Front Panel
The default is sub net mask Hold the Page button until security level 3 is requested Press the Up button to go into Config security level, Note, the EPC3000 does not control whilst in Config mode) Press Scroll button - Enter passcode (default is ---4) Press Page button several times until you can see COmm Press Scroll button – you will see F.Com (Fixed.Comm), press Up button to see O.Com (Optional.Comm) Press Scroll button– you will see Main Press Scroll button again to see Eth (Ethernet) Press Scroll again to see none – use the UP button to select m.tCP(Modbus TCP) Page Key is the one on the left as you look at the front panel. The Scroll key is the 2nd from the left ( between Page key and Down key ). Sometimes it is useful to use iTools simply to illustrate the hierarchy of the menus – see the last screen of this PowerPoint for details Continued on next slide Confidential Property of Schneider Electric |

4 Network settings for Optional Ethernet
How to set the AutoDiscovery flag and IP address via the front panel - Continued from previous slide Press Page button twice to return to main then the Up arrow to see nwrk Press scroll button, you are now able to scroll through the Ethernet options. The Up and Down buttons allow the values to be altered You can scroll through the IP.A1, IP.A2, IP.A3 and IP.A4 to set each part of the IP address eg IP.A1 = IP.A2 = IP.A3 = and IP.A4 =233 The A.Disc parameter is AutoDiscovery. If this is set to true it means that the device can be easily found when using iTools, (without the need to add the information to the iTools applet in the control panel.) This information is a continuation from the previous slide Confidential Property of Schneider Electric |

5 If the AutoDiscovery is set to True then iTools will find the EPC3000
Simply select Add from the title bar, the list of devices connected to the Ethernet will appear The AutoDiscovery flag set to True means it is not necessary to add the EPC3000 IP address to the iTools control panel applet AutoDiscovery is the method by which “Bonjour Networking Services” are provided. Use the internet to learn more about the term “Bonjour Services” Confidential Property of Schneider Electric |

6 How to set up an IP address in the EPC3000 via iTools
You need to have already established comms between the EPC3000and the PC before the IP address can be altered via iTools. The default address of the EPC3000 is If this is entered into the iTools applet on the Control Panel via the Add feature, iTools will be able to SCAN and find the EPC3000, when the Ethernet is connected The name you enter is your choice – the example shows EPC3000. Ensure that no duplicate IP address entries are enabled at the same time. Confidential Property of Schneider Electric |

7 How to use iTools to configure the network settings
Assuming comms is already established via some method, the network settings can be altered via iTools This list can help when using the front panel because it shows the hierarchy of the parameters and the lists they are in. Confidential Property of Schneider Electric |
