Network Installation

There are two types of wireless network connections that can be used to connect the HP All-in-One product (i)Ad hoc connection: An Ad hoc wireless network is a simple wireless connection without an access point (or router). (ii)Infrastructure connection: An Infrastructure wireless network uses a wireless access point (or router) to provide a secure and flexible connection for your HP All-in-One product. Listed below are the steps which we have to follow to install All in one on Infrastructure connection.

(I) Now We have to install the printer on the network first If wired (Ethernet):-Simply connect the ethernet cable between the printer and the router If wireless:- Press Setup->Go To Networks->Run Wireless Setup Wizard -> Now, the setup wizard searches for available networks, and the color graphics display shows a list of detected wireless network names (SSIDs). If your wireless network Name (SSID) appears in the list, press the Down Arrow button until it becomes highlighted, and then press the OK button.

Now check the IP address and the default gateway of printer For that:- setup->networks->view network settings->print network configuration page or view wireless (wired in case of ethernet) summary Mostly the IP address of the printer and default Gateway is like 192.168.xxx.xxx (In case of DLINK,LINKSYS etc ) OR 10.XX.XX.XX (in case of Airport Router which supports Mac & Windows) Where xxx is any 3 bit number

Now Ping the IP address of the printer on computer :- Start->run->cmd->ok Ping 192.168.1.23(IP address of the printer) It should always be Packet:-Sent = 4,Received = 4,Lost = 0 Which means there is a strong connection between computer & printer. If it’s Packet:-Sent = 4,Received =0,Lost = 100% Then the printer is not pinging with the computer that means connection between computer & printer is either weak or not there or some external factors (eg: firewall, anti spyware, antivirus) are blocking the connection.

Check the ip address n default gateway of computer:- The default gateway(address of router) of computer and printer should be same,if they are different then that means computer and printer is not on same network. They should be on same network if we want to install it To check the ip address and Default gateway of computer start>run>cmd>ok ipconfig

If the default Gateway is same for the computer and the printer and still the printer is not pinging then :- (i) Do a semiful reset on the printer. (ii) Turn off the printer, router and computer. (iii) Now turn on the Router, then the printer and then the computer Now run the Wireless setup wizard once again (Click Here)

Now over to computer:- (i)click on start->Run->services.msc->ok Disable all the antivirus and firewalls from here like this:- click on disable Then stop Then ok

(ii)start->cmd->msconfig services->hide all microsoft services->disable all the services & STARTUP which are related to antivirus and also windows defender (do not disable windows firewall) for Ex:-mcafee (entries starting with Mc), norton, symantec, AVG. Panda, spy sweeper etc. startup->disable all restart the computer

Now we have to Add port in the windows Firewalls(Because sometimes it happens that after installing the printer on network we are not able to scan even though the printer is printing,so to avoid that as well as a dissat ,do it).For that :- Click Start, and then click Control Panel. Double-click Windows Firewall (or click Security Center and then Windows Firewall). In the Windows Firewall control panel, click the Exceptions tab. Click here

Click Add Port.In the Name field, enter the Application followed by an underscore then the Port Type in uppercase followed by an underscore and then the port number. Ex: SCAN_TCP_9290. In the Port number field, enter the number being added. This should match the number entered in the Name field. Ex: 9290. Click the appropriate radio button for TCP. Click OK to add the port. Click OK to close the Windows Firewall control panel. Restart the computer to enable these choices. Ports Which Needs To Be Added In The Exception List Port # 161, Name # SNMP Port # 427, Name # SRVLOC Port # 9220, Name # GENERIC GATEWAY Port # 9290, Name # SCAN Port # 9110, Name # PCL SCAN_TCP_9290 PCL_TCP_9110 GENERIC GATEWAY _TCP_9220 SRVLOC_TCP_427 SNMP_TCP_161

Now insert the cd in the computer and install the printer as you do with all instillations. And on connection window select through the network. Follow the instruction on the installation window and finally Congrats your software is installed REFERENCES:- 1) ScreenshotsScreenshots 2) www.google.comwww.google.com 3) KRS (c00587100, c00505920, c00468141 )KRS 4) HP troubleshooterHP troubleshooter Compiled By:- Riddhima(51034)
