3. Graduation Requirements Completion of a minimum of 22 credits

4. Am I eligible to take ARCC courses?
No W’s or F’s in prior ARCC courses
AND meet ONE of the following:
C- or higher in College Seminar previous year and GPA of at least 2.5
In top 33% of class
Have a college-ready composite ACT score of 21 or higher
Successfully completed all previous ARCC courses with
a C- or higher.
Note: College Chemistry and College Pre-Calc have additional requirements:
ACT math score of at least 22
Completion of Advance Algebra

5. AA Degree Planning
If it is your goal to complete the AA degree from Anoka-Ramsey Community College in addition to your high school diploma, it is imperative that you schedule a meeting with your dean ASAP
It is important to plan your course registration carefully to meet all requirements of the AA degree

6. 11TH GRADE COURSES – see flow charts
English (full year)

Electives (health, PE, fine arts, world language, etc…)

7. There is a new English 11 course
There is a new English 11 course. Your options for 11th grade are (1) English 11 (year-long); (2) ARCC College Writing & ARCC Short Stories; (3) AP Lang (year-long) or AP Lit (year-long)
If you want to take a class that is not the next in line on the flowchart, you must talk to your current English teacher first.
If you want to take an English elective (like mythology or acting) in addition to your year-long 11th grade English class, you may do so.

8. There are three choices- World History (1 semester Pacific/Indian Ocean and 1 semester Atlantic/Mediterranean Ocean), AP European History, and AP World History.
This is a good year for you to expand and take college level courses.
The best way to make your decision on which AP Course is based on your interest in the specific content, either World focused (broader) or European focused (narrower in scope)

9. Continue to follow the math sequence (Intermediate, Geometry, Advanced Algebra)
Check access to ARCC/AP courses for advanced students
Are there any math electives you would like to pursue that will will qualify for as a junior? AP Statistics, AP Computer Science, AP Principles of Computer Science (if approved)

10. If you scored a 19 or better on the Math Section of ACT you should sign up for College Chem
All other students should sign up for regular chem
There are lots of great electives: Anatomy, Zoology, Biotechnology, Science in the Arts, Enviormental Science

Child Psychology and Development, and Interior Design, are open to graders.
Students earning a B or better in the class will also receive articulated college credit.
Photoshop--Fulfills the fine art credit at Irondale
Personal Finance & Accounting should be taken if you are interested in a Business major/minor in college.

Make sure you choose 6 classes each semester (year- long classes have an “A” and a “B”) AND make 2 alternative choices (required)

Talk to this year’s teachers for advice on choosing your classes
Consider when you plan to complete Fit for Life and Health and Fine Art credit
Remember your 4-year plan in Naviance and your Early College goals

15. Registration is Final Please make selections carefully
Schedule changes will only be made for the following reasons:
Failed a course that affects course sequence
Need a course to complete graduation requirements
Do not have the prerequisites for the course
Do not have 12 classes/6 credits

16. Computer Lab Registration:
Friday, February 3rd - during school
Students will be called down to the computer alphabetically to enter in their course requests.

Talk to your dean and teachers prior to registration!
