2 Richwoods High School “The Standard of Excellence”
Being a proud member of the “Standard of Excellence,” Richwoods High School, places high expectations on all students, staff, parents, and community members. It is expected that all members of the Standard of Excellence hold themselves to the highest standard of academic success while representing first-class behavior in all areas of today’s society. It is our goal that wherever a member of Richwoods High School ventures, he/she will stand out as an example of Excellence and leadership.

3 Quarterly Exams Students will take Quarterly Exams End of GP 1
Students will not take a Final Exam Quarterly Exams will count for 10% of your grade 4th quarter exam is the only exam that can be waived

4 NWEA Fall Schedule – Todd Hursey
9th – 11th grade will take NWEA. Testing begins on September 2nd Students will take NWEA during their English classes

5 Hallway Sweeps Sweeps happen at select hours each day
After the bell rings, teachers lock doors Students in the hallway tardy will be “swept” and receive a Saturday School Slip from an AP or Officer Students may serve a merit hall after school Monday-Thursday from 2:40 – 3:10 to remove the Saturday School If a merit hall for each tardy that week is not served, you must serve the Saturday School from 9:00 – 11:00 that week Further discipline will occur if merit hall/Saturday School is not served

6 Eligibility Eligibility applies to:
Sporting Events Dances Productions Students must present school ID to verify eligibility. Eligibility applies to RHS, PHS, and MHS events. Points Based Eligibility is comprised of: Grading Period GPA GPA = 2.8 x 10 = 28 points Subtract 1 point for every absence and tardy. Student must have 18 points to be eligible for the next grading period. Boosters = Next Slide

7 Eligibility Booster At the beginning of each grading period students who are ineligible have an extra opportunity to become eligible. Students who are eligible for the booster are those who: Only have 1 tardy No absences No suspensions during the first 3 weeks of the grading period. Exceptions: Students failing 2 or more classes. Students with 2 or more suspensions in a grading period. Students suspended for fighting. These exceptions will prohibit booster participation. Therefore, students with these infractions will be ineligible the entire grading period.

F = 50 – 0 = 10 point scale

9 Absences Excused Absences Unexcused Absences
For a non-attendance day to be an excused absence, a parent note, phone call or would be required from the student’s recognized guardian within two (2) attendance days of the student’s return to school. Excused students will be given a zero (40) for missing assignments. The student will be allowed two (2) days for every one day of excused absence to make up missing assignments. A student who completes the assignments within the time guidelines shall receive full credit. The percentage grade would then replace the zero (40) given. Incomplete work or work not turned in would still be a zero (40). Students with an unexcused absence, including suspensions, shall be given a zero but they shall be allowed to make up the work for full credit. Students will be allowed two (2) days for every day of unexcused absence or suspension. A student who completes the assignment within the time guidelines shall receive full credit. The percentage grade would then replace the zero given. Incomplete or work not turned in would still be given a zero (40).

11 Dress Code Cover shoulders, back, and mid section. Shorts No beaters
Ladies Gentlemen Cover shoulders, back, and mid section. No spaghetti straps No mid-drifts No rompers Shorts Should not see lining of pockets No beaters No see through tanks No sagging Saturday School will be given for such violations.
