1 Ambition School Leadership
Working with Suffolk Association of Secondary Heads Tim Ogdon, School Partnerships Associate Director, and Rob Lloyd-Jones, School Partnerships Manager

2 Ambition School Leadership – who are we?
Ambition School Leadership is a national education charity working to build a network of exceptional leaders at all levels in schools in challenging contexts. We launched in November 2016 as the result of a merger of Teaching Leaders and The Future Leaders Trust who, together, have worked in leadership development in the education sector for more than 18 years. We have a joint network of more than 4,000 leaders and over 1,500 school partners.

3 Why? So, why did we join forces? Because we know together we can offer more to schools to develop their leaders, effect sustainable, long-term improvement and ultimately, improve outcomes for children. Our ambition is for a fair society built on an education system where every child can thrive, no matter what their background. And to help get there, we are building a network of exceptional school leaders at all levels to transform the lives of the children who need it most.

4 Our programmes We know that effective school leadership has a life-changing impact on pupils, and Ambition School Leadership is unique because we develop school leaders at all levels - from aspiring middle leaders to CEOs. This means we can create career pathways that support people to master their current role and/or to progress onto the next. The screen shot here is what we’re focusing on today, which is middle leadership – the Teaching Leaders programme, which I’ll talk about now.
