Medication informer requests a code from Barcode reader (“please go ahead and read something”) This triggers the reader to “scan” Reader sends the encoded content back to the medication informer (“I have scanned this: ”) Medication Informer requests an interpretation from the Barcode Processor (“please decode “ ” to something understandable”) Barcode processor returns the representation of the object with attributes (“your code has a GTIN code , exp date xx/xx, serial, etc”) Next to this, we have further lookup of the product
