During the late 1600s many men and women were accused of witchcraft (the devil’s magic), some were even executed. During this presentation I will tell you about the people involved and how it all unfolded. By: Isaiah Crawford 2nd Period Ms. Smith

3 Why does Salem Witch Trails matter to American History?
Salem witch trails matter because of the tens of thousands of people who died for being wrongly accused of witchcraft. Due to recent research people have found over 100,000 bodies in the same area of the witch trails time line they have signs of being lynched.

4 When did the witch trails occur?
The Salem witch trails occurred in colonial Massachusetts between 1692 and They say that it actually went on unknown for about four years after it was said to supposedly stop. During the times it still went on after the stop they have found over 30 hanged bodies in different places they found three people believed to be involved but they think there was over 5 people.

5 Where did the idea of witchcraft originate?
Scientists think that bewitching originated around great Britain. They also say that it was first found in colonial Massachusetts..

6 Why did people believe in witchcraft?
People believed in this witchcraft because of the stories they heard around great Britain and Massachusetts.

7 What key incidents started this ordeal?
The key incident was when the girl named Sarah good was hanged for being accused of witchcraft.

8 Why did the trails occur in colonial Massachusetts?
The trails occurred here because of the Elizabeth Paris and Abigail Williams incident when they started having fits throwing things nag contorting themselves in to peculiar positions and uttering weird sounds.

9 According to Scientist and Research…
A root called fungus ergot it grows near rye it is said that if eaten it causes muscle spasms , hallucinations , vomiting and delusions.

10 Miscellaneous Causes/Theories
One miscellaneous causes is that people believe that witches were said to live their lives looking like regular humans. Another miscellaneous causes is that they thought witches could cause any one they want harm but do to recent research they only attack people the devil tells them to.
