The Salem Witch Trails By: Jenna Palme ID4

It all started in the town of Salem, Massachusetts, 1692 when the daughter and niece of Reverend Samuel Paris became ill. The had seizures and were acting strangely, so when the doctor came to check on them he said they were… BEWITCHED! DUH DUH DUH!!!!

Here are our first VictimsHere are our first Victims Sarah Good, a woman with no home and Sarah Osborn, a old lady were the first to be accused. Since neither of the woman had attended church in a year, they were obviously evil. The two woman insisted they were innocent until they’re death. There was another woman named, Tituba. Tituba confessed she was a witch, but she was never hung.

The “Proof”The “Proof” While the witches and wizards were on trial, the judge would go to the “victims” for evidence. The witch would turn to the girls would say they saw the witches shape in the night. The girls could also break out in fits. When Rebecca Nurse was on trial whenever she moved the “victims” would do the same movement.

Of course Women are witches!Of course Women are witches! Most all the Salem witches were women. The people thought this because apparently women envy the man’s strength and power. So of course they made deals with no one other than the Devil, so they could have as much power than the man. There were also men that were accused, because they were seen at the Witches Sabbath.

Fun Facts! Fun Facts!  Over all there were 19 victims hung and killed.  There were still the accused in jail at the end but they were pardoned.  There were also suspected Genies at this time, WOW these people were paranoid!  The trials lasted 10 months! There were 165 accusations!  There were tests, one was the water test. If the woman sank she wasn’t a witch if she sank she was a witch!

How They EndedHow They Ended The trials ended when a man named, Samuel Miller wrote a book about it. When it was showed to the Governor of the time, it persuaded him to call off the witch hunt. HOORAY! All the accused witches were set free!
