2. Worship is the Celebration of God for WHO He is and WHAT He has done.

“Worship”
means to ascribe worth to something or someone.

4. John 4:20-24:
Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.” 21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Public Worship

7. Public worship is crucial because:
It reminds us that God is our Father in heaven; it reminds us we are a part of a bigger FAMILY.
God will do things for you in public worship that are not necessarily available to you in private worship.
It is designed to BENEFIT others as well as yourself.
God expects us to worship and awaits His people in the place of worship.

11. #4. THE ESSENCE OF WORSHIP (verse 24)
“God is Spirit”
You can have the body of a worshipper, yet not have a HEART of a worshipper.

12. “and His worshippers must worship in the Spirit and the truth.”
Worship must be both AUTHENTIC & ACCURATE

13. Sometimes we see 2 extremes:
Spirit without truth
Truth without spirit

14. “Worship the Father”
Psalm 24:1: …the earth is the Lord’s and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it.
