5 great Define: When we say that something is great, we often mean that it is very, very good. Example: I think Saturday is a great day. Chinese: 優秀的 Ask: What day do you think is great? Why?

6 warm Define: When something is warm, it is not hot or cold.
Example: Today is rainy and warm. Chinese:溫暖的 Ask: Do you like warm days?

7 cold Define: When something
is cold, it doesn't have much heat. It is the opposite of hot. Example: I like to drink hot milk tea on cold days. Chinese: 冷的 Ask: What do you like to do on cold days?

8 sound Define: A sound is something that people or animals can hear with their ears. Example: I like the sound of the rain. Chinese: 聲音 Ask: What sounds do you like to hear?

9 know Define: When you know something, there are things in your mind like facts and information. Example: My friend knows a lot about the weather. Chinese: 知道 Ask: What do you know about weather?

10 extreme Define: When something is extreme, it is far beyond
what is average or normal. Example: This rain is extreme. Chinese: 極端的 Ask: What extreme weather do we get in Taiwan?

11 predict Define: When you say what you think is going to happen.
Example: People predict the weather. Chinese:預測 Ask: What do you predict the weather will be like tomorrow?

12 storms Define: A storm is what we call a time when there is a lot
of rain or snow falling very fast, or when the wind is very strong. Example: There was a thunder and lightening storm last night. Chinese: 暴風雨 Ask: Have you see a storm before?

13 clouds Define: A cloud is something you often see in the sky. Clouds are white or gray and they often change their shape. Example: I see gray clouds, I think it is going to rain. Chinese: 雲 Ask: Have you seen clouds before?

14 sky Define: The sky is the air or space above the earth.
Example: The sky is very blue. Chinese: 天空 Ask: What can you see in the sky?

15 thunder Define: Thunder is the loud noise you sometimes hear during a very bad rain storm. Example: I hear the thunder. Chinese: 雷聲;轟隆聲 Ask: Have you heard thunder before?

16 blizzard Define: A very strong snow storm.
Example: It was very windy during the blizzard. Chinese: 暴風雪

17 tornado Define: A tornado is a storm
of very strong winds. The winds form a moving cloud in the shape of a cone. Example: There was a tornado last night. Chinese: 龍捲風 Ask: Do we have tornadoes in Taiwan?

18 their Define: When you go to your friends' houses and play with their toys, it means that you play with the toys that belong to your friends. Example: Kids play in their homes. Chinese:他們的 Ask: Can you make a sentence with ‘their’?
