1 New Apps and Web Players Are Better Than Your Old Ones
The Top 10 Reasons Your New Apps and Web Players Are Better Than Your Old Ones Introductions

2 First, some background…
Most radio station apps are static and boring. They offer limited content curation opportunities for stations, and no way for listeners to engage. We are changing that! Set the stage… Radio station apps are pretty boring. They are static and give programmers limited opportunities to curate and push their great content to listeners – and give listeners limited opportunities to act on audio and non-audio content. Clip is changing that. We built a digital platform for PDs and promotions staff to enable direct audience engagement. And we made it easy to use (no extra work) and highly dynamic. 2

3 Everything the listener hears should be interactive!
We automatically create an interactive “feed” of all audio content, for every station. At Clip, we set out to make everything the listener hears visible and actionable via mobile and web. We “listen” to your radio stations, identify everything that you’re playing and create a live and historical feed of all your content so that users can see what you’ve played and act on it. We also let stations add their own non-audio content into the feed. Things like your Facebook posts and podcasts. The feed is always fresh, always current and created with minimal work – or no work at all – from the station. Non-audio content can be added to the feed, too, like Facebook posts, Tweets, news items, blog posts, podcasts, and more. Real time, automated updates - No manual work - Built for audience engagement 3

4 Reason #1 – Everything your apps do now
Stream start/stop Now Playing Album art Artist info / song lyrics “Like” songs Purchase music Share music Talk Back In-car access Alarm clock Podcasts Navigation menu Splash screen In-app messaging User registration So with that as a background, here are the fifteen reasons why you mobile apps and web players are about to get radically better than what you’d had… Reason #1 – Your apps will do everything they do now. There will be no loss of capability – no loss of features. 4

5 Reason #2 – The listener’s experience is universal
Same content - same experience – everywhere the listener goes. Reason #2 – As Tim said, your content is now presented to digital fans in the same way, no matter where they access your station. Mobile, web and mobile web – users have access to see and interact with everything you play and everything you push into your feeds. Broadcast Stations Station Branded Mobile App Station Web Player Mobile Web Browser On air content turns to digital action – everywhere. 5

6 Reason #3 – Content you already create flows into the feed
Songs Promotions Ads Social posts Frequency content like: Blogs and Podcasts…   …it’s all in your feed. Reason #3 – You are already doing a lot of work to curate great content. Not just on-air content, either. All of the content curation you are doing is presented in your feed. And all of this happens automatically, too. More on that later. We really tried to create an environment that leverages the content curation skills of PDs and radio programmers while allowing that content to seamlessly load into your station feeds, allowing action and engagement with the audience – everywhere. 6

7 Example – Podcasts in the feed, and in your app menu
Reason #7 – Your podcast content is accessible through the app, in the feed and through the app’s main menu. GRAPHICS – Right most image should show the menu with the podcast icon/label in the menu. 7

8 Reason #4 – Every song is in the feed, and interactive
Lyrics “Like” Purchase Share Play 30 second sample Triggered content Reason #5 – All songs are identified and placed into the feed, first in “Now Playing” and then into the historical feed. And every song is actionable… 8

9 All of this interactive capability drives MORE listening!
Reason #5 - Artist Feeds Reason #13 – If your station is a music station, we produce what we call an artist feed. Every major artist that you play is made available to the listener through this feed. Users can navigate the feed looking for their favorite artists and open their detailed feed to find the artist’s music catalogue, social feeds and new stories about the artist. Your listeners access this content while they listen to your station. This extends listening hours dramatically and keeps your fans on your app, under your brand. Rather than going out to FB, Twitter, Instagram your fans will browse artist feeds for the latest on their favorite artists. All of this interactive capability drives MORE listening! 9

10 Reason #6 – We are in the car, today and tomorrow
Your station apps are fully functional in most cars on the road today. Already working to integrate with emerging dashboard technologies like Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Reason #4 – Your mobile apps let your listeners tune your station stream in the car today, and we’re already developing advanced integrations with technologies that are just now starting to hit the streets, like Car Play and Android Auto. As you might imagine, tech companies like Apple and Google develop their technologies so that everyone can use them – not just a single app provider. We’re on track to be fully integrated with these technologies as new cars come off the assembly line, ensuring that your stations will be available in the car today and in the future. And don’t forget, everything I am sharing about interactive content and dynamic content curation carries into the car, too. So it’s not just your stream that listeners can access, but all of your content. 10

11 Reason #7 – Promos and ads can be interactive, too
Broadcast and stream promotions and commercials can have a digital component in the feed Fully interactive Several campaign types available Reason #6 – All of your station promos and ads can be interactive, too. The feed becomes a historical list of everything you’ve played, and every item is viewable and actionable by listeners. As you might imagine, a broadcast spot is more valuable to the advertiser if you can deliver digital action and data as a byproduct of their radio ad. 11

12 Reason #8 - You Are In Control!
Most content is automatically placed in the feed, but you can control what makes it in there… social posts, news feed items, promotions, audio triggered items, time triggered items, and more. Reason #12 – Everything I have showed you so far is under your control. You can decide what content makes it into your feed. You can choose whether or not your Facebook posts get added, or whether you want to add certain campaigns. 12

13 Reason #9 – Cool campaigns like scratch and reveal
Reason #9 – You can run some really cool interactive campaigns. This is a scratch and reveal of a “guess who” game. Campaigns like this can be used to entertain and engage your listeners. On air mentions drives up engagement. The campaign can be a survey or it can be sponsored, commercially. 13

14 User Generated Content Secret Word Sponsored Music Audio Segmentation
More cool campaigns… Interactive polls Talk Back In-app games User Generated Content Secret Word Sponsored Music Audio Segmentation Location triggered content and actions Everything is sharable – and actionable Videos There are a host of different campaign types you can run, for promotions and commercials. For example, you can run secret word campaigns that drive appointment listening. And you can run location-triggered campaigns that allow your station fans to access content only if they are at a specific location, like a station sponsored event. Everything in your feed can be sharable, socially, and it can be made actionable when shared, as well. 14
