What is the purpose of body language?

8 Body language Body language is a kind of nonverbal communication, where thoughts, intentions, or feelings are expressed by physical behaviors, such as facial expression, body posture, gestures, eye movement, touch and the use of space. Body language exists in both animals and humans, but here we just focus on interpretations of human body language.

9 Skimming When you skim a passage before you read it, you can get a general idea of it. Skimming means looking at titles and headings, pictures and diagrams, and certain sentences in a passage (such as the first and last sentence.) This takes only a minute or two. When skimming a passage, look for clues to what it is about. It is useful to ask yourself questions with who, what, when, where, why and how.
