1 Welcome to GCSE RE!!!

2 Minimum Standards in RE

3 Presentation of Work At the beginning of each lesson you need to write: The date The title The learning objective All dates, titles and headings need to be underlined with a ruler. All writing in your exercise books need to be your neatest handwriting. You should write in blue or black pen but may use colour to highlight keywords or important information.

4 Exercise Books On the front of your book Name and Class:
Religious Education Teacher’s Name Room … In the inside of your book You need to stick in your WAD flier on the inside cover You need to stick your Target Log in the back – folded down The target log needs to be folded down so it can be flipped open when they are working so they can see it when they are doing marked pieces of work

5 Class Charter Wildern is a Rights Respecting School.
At Wildern every child has the right to a good quality education and has the right to have their opinions respected. As part of being a rights respecting school it also means we have responsibility for each other and making sure that everyone has the right to learn in a safe environment. Behaviour for Learning Class Charter As a class you are going to form your own class charter that outlines what you will do to create a classroom where everyone can learn and feel respected. As a table decide on 5 things you would like to be included in our class charter. Take feedback from each table and write ideas on the board. Decide on the ones they think should go in the charter. Students then need to write their class charter up neatly in their books.

9 Introduction to Christianity
As part of the GCSE course you are going to need to have a solid understanding of the Christian religion. We are going to start with a unit that introduces us to some of the basic beliefs, teachings and stories within the Christian religion to build on what you have learned in KS3. Students need to stick in their unit overviews

10 What do you already know?
We would like to know how much you already know about Christianity. Write down everything you can think of on your A3 sheet.
