EXAM DATES Preparing for the GCSE Religious Studies exam Religion & Life: Monday 15th May (am) Religion & Society: Wednesday 17th May (pm) A reminder of our topics… Religion & Life : Believing in God Matters of Life & Death Marriage and the family Community Cohesion Religion & Society : Rights and Responsibilities Environmental and Medical issues Peace and Conflict Crime and Punishment . REMEMBER! REMEMBER! REMEMBER! You will answer a four-part question from each section – pick the set of questions that you think will get you the most marks! You must answer a, b, c, di and dii from one section – don’t mix and match! Each exam is an hour and a half – you have 22 and a half minutes for each section – stick to it!

2 Don’t forget to practice exam technique!
Great ways to revise: Make a mind-map of a whole topic, include the reasons you would give in an answer Make yourself a set of flashcards for the keywords for each topic Use the practice tests at end of each section of your revision guide – check the answers yourself or ask Mr Burdon to check them. Drop in on a Tuesday afternoon to R2 Use the past papers and other resources on Firefly: Make a list of the keywords specific to Hinduism and Christianity – stick it on your bedroom wall! Don’t forget to practice exam technique! Make good use of your revision guide… Part a: Write a correct definition Part b: Give two developed reasons for your view Part c: Give either: Four brief reasons (best option) OR two developed reasons OR three reasons where one is developed Part d: For both parts, give either: Three brief reasons One brief reason and one developed reason You MUST refer to a religious view in either di or dii if you are asked to do so.
