1 Student Led Conferences
Sebastian Peret

2 Cover Letter – Density & Volume Unit
Since September 2015 until March 2016 we have learned all kinds of things. We learned about volumes and we had hands-on experiences. We got to measure the volume of objects such as screws, pieces of copper and other objects with and without using formulas such as V=l *w*h. We measured the volume by putting the objects in a beaker of water and used formulas. We also learned about the density of water and other objects. We learned that when the density of an object is less than water, it floats. If it is greater than water, it will sink.

3 Cover Letter – Cell Unit
After we finished with the Density and Volume unit, we started learning about animal and plant cells. We learned all the parts of the cells such as the nucleus, mitochondria, chloroplasts (only in plant cells) and more. We learned about the difference between the cell membrane and the cell wall. We studied cells under a microscope such as our own cells and onion cells. I knew that microscopes can make a cell visible to us, but I was very amazed on how the cell looked. We also learned about photosynthesis and respiration. I learned that plants produce glucose (sugar) during photosynthesis and it takes place in the chloroplasts. I also learned that respiration takes place in the mitochondria. The first cell we saw. Onion cell. Saliva cell.

4 Cover Letter – Heredity Unit
After we finished the cell unit, we learned how traits are being passed on from generation to generation. I learned how to use Punnett Squares. I learned that even if you do not have a certain trait, you can still carry it, even if you do not appear to have it.

5 Skills & Effort Description
On the next slides, I will be talking about what I would rate myself on a scale of one to five (1 – 5) on how well I have been doing this year based on which category.

6 My Ability to Complete Assignments for Class
On a scale of 1-5 (5 being best) I would rate myself a four and a half (4.5) for my ability to complete assignments for class because I almost always do the homework I have been assigned to do for class. I always do my science homework no matter how late at night it is. I keep track of it with my electronic device. I only had one assignment I forgot to do which was the “Signed Rubric for the Cube Project” assignment in Quarter 2 and I forgot to get the rubric signed.

7 Class Time Effort & Positive Contributions to Class Discussions
On a scale of 1-5 (5 being best) I would rate myself a five (5) for my effort on working on assignments in class and positive contributions to class discussions because I always payed attention to class discussions and participated. When we are having a class discussion, I am ready to answer any questions. I put a lot of effort to what I need to do and will not let the slightest mistake slide.

8 Ability to Work With others in class
On a scale of 1-5 (5 being best) I would rate myself a four (4) out of five on my ability to work with others because most of the time, I will work well and get the job done on time and accurate, but if I am with someone who constantly gets distracted by something, I get a little annoyed and I end up doing most of the work instead of trying to get the person to focus and do his/ her part.

9 My Steps I will Take to Improve upon my Performance for next quarter/ year
On a scale of 1-5 (5 being best) I would give my steps a five (5). My steps are to remember to write down every assignment on my planner so I do not forget about it, and to try harder to get whoever is not focusing in my group to focus and do their part in the team instead of me doing it for them.

10 Improvements in Science
On a scale of 1-5 (5 being best) I would rate myself a 5 for my improving performance in Science because I think I have been improving in Science. My grade in Quarter one for Science ended up being an “A- (92%)” and for Quarter two, it was an “A (98%).” The grade has improved by 6%. My test grades have improved too.

11 Thanks for Watching!
