If I Stay Signposts By: Jordan

Memory Moment Page 16- Mia hears a boom from the drums in her basement and remembers they belonged to her dad when he was younger. “Why might this memory be important?”- This memory might be important because when Mia gets older she will see the drums and it will make her feel happy.

Words of the wiser Page 17- Mia’s mom says “well the horse is already out of the barn.” “What is the life lesson?”- I think the life lesson is to be careful when you are doing things otherwise you might get hurt.

Contrast and contradiction
Page 20- Mia can either stay home alone on the snow day, or hang out with her family, and she chooses family. “Why is the character doing that?”- I think Mia is doing that because she actually wants to spend time with her family.

Aha moment Page 32- Mia wakes up from the car accident and is trying to talk to her family, but no one is answering her. Then Mia see’s her body in the car and realizes that she is dead. “How might this change things?”- This might changes things because now Mia will never see her family again.

Tough question Page 45- Mia asks herself “where are these people taking me in a helicopter?” “What does this question make me wonder?”- This makes me wonder if the people are taking her to another hospital to try to bring her back to life.

Again and again Page 48- Hospital people keep monitoring Mia to see if she wakes up or comes out of her coma. “Why does this keep happening again and again?”- I think this keeps happening because the people in the helicopter want Mia to wake up and to be healthy.
