3 Thank you!

4 Where are we now? 2015/16 in numbers
This income is from grants such as the Big Lottery Fund and Children in need which help fund services like the Regional Co-ordinator Project and CYPC activities

5 This year so far… Summary
This will increase with continuation funding from the Big Lottery Fund – but not guaranteed Budgets appraised by Regional Fund Committee Fund total is estimated on previous contributions Any surplus spend opened to further applications Branch’s spend approved by CLAPA finance Summary Our unrestricted fundraising from the community is encouragingly £33k up on this stage last year but £27K below where we would like to be.

6 What is the environment?
Internally (historically) Small team Reactive Lack of strong messaging Lack of resources Lack of consistent processes Too reliant on the big Trusts

7 What is the environment?
Externally Competition Cut backs leading to… …Higher demand on grant funders i.e Lottery, Children in Need Negative Media portrayal of charity sector (Olive Cooke, Kids Co, Etherington Report)

8 Where do we need to get to?
To achieve our objectives – Delivering Regional support throughout the UK… … We NEED to: Build reserves Create more sustainable sources Invest in new opportunities Raise £1.2M by 2021 (from £678K)

9 How are we going to achieve it?
Diversify income streams (balanced income) Stronger processes Stronger messaging/branding Better resources to make us noticed Illustrate the difference each £1 will make Provide a Better experience (to fundraisers) Use our amazing cleft community to ask

Homework!!! Consider the list on the previous slide. List 6 people you know that are involved with, work for or own one of the organisations. Contact them and tell them about CLAPA and why you are involved. Ask them to support CLAPA or… … Introduce them to the fundraising team – we would love to speak to them. Word of mouth is the most powerful source of growing support

13 Who Do You Know?

14 How else can you help? Fundraising events (come back to this)
Simple things to raise awareness and money: Give As You Live, Savoo (Search engine), Amazon Ebay For Charity (coming soon) Waitrose/Asda/ Tescos – Charities of the month Local table tops/Fairs/Bazaars with games Use New CLAPA kit: (All branches) Pull up banners, PVC banners, T-shirts, merchandise, posters, balloons, bunting, literature, collection cans – ALL standard issue- No need to apply Additional things like Gazebos, sail flags other kit via RF application. All merchandise must be sourced through Vicky – branding needs to be consistent and bulk buying can save us money

15 Cans Stat – on average £41 per can per year
Enough to fund two welcome packs If each Branch issued 30 new cans in their areas and serviced them at least twice a year 480 cans collecting £19,680 a year (that would fund our welcome pack service and fund 2 Christmas parties next year) Always ask if you can advertise in their window That is 30 new advertising venues to promote your events Immeasurable amount of brand awareness. Stat – in areas where there is a can concentration fundraising can rise by up to 15%
