6 Fundraising at central level – strategy As part of Vision 20:20 the need was identified for a Fundraising Strategy to be designed to help deliver our mission. This strategy covers our current triennium period until the end of 2018

9 Fundraising at central level – key objectives Invest in the short to medium term income channels with the greatest potential: – Legacies – Trusts & Statutory Funders Begin ‘Network Mapping’ – where does our existing potential lie? Work to develop a clear proposition globally – “Why support Mothers’ Union?” To grow our overall revenue from £1.5m to £1.8m by 2018

10 Fundraising at central level – considerations For this strategy to help deliver the resources to enable Mothers’ Union to thrive it must operate in 3 key areas: – Developing sources of income centrally, beyond the current membership – Begin to support provinces worldwide in their fundraising activities – Supporting members, branches and dioceses in their own fundraising in Britain & Ireland

13 Fundraising regulations New fundraising regulations to be released in June with the formation of a new fundraising regulator in the UK and changes to EU data protection guidelines. Potential areas of concern – Contacting supporters – Storing contact details – Handling complaints – Evidencing records Each Diocese should consider membership with the new regulatory body – most likely will be free. MSH to produce guidelines for local fundraising – dependent on June regulations being accepted by the sector.
