38 Annotation Reflections
Feel more confident, but not necessarily ready to take assessment. It helped when I would read out loud and stop and say what I would annotate. A few more tips would help

39 Tips: Content Is something in the plot confusing?
Can you use a character trait to describe a character? What is the mood? (What the reader feels) Is this an important scene?

40 Tips: Context Is there war language that you do not understand? (that could also be language…) How can this relate back to Tim O’Brien biography? How can this relate back to Ms. Lane’s presentation?

41 Tips: Language Are any words and phrases repeated? Why?
Are there any words that stick out? Powerful? Confusing? Interesting? Is there body language mentioned? What does word choice/dialogue tell me about a character?

42 Structure? Should there be more paragraphs? Is there enough dialogue?
Is the grammar correct – is the mistake intentional? How does it LOOK?

43 Technique Are there cliffhangers? Can you easily make predictions?
Is there a lot of imagery? Are there metaphors? What do they mean? Who is the villain? How are they created? Who is the hero? Can you relate? How? Why? Can you not?

44 Style What is the genre? Mystery? Fiction? Historical? Thriller? Suspense? Persuade? Inform? Narrative?

45 Relationship How does it relate to ANY thing else you have read?
Characters? Theme? Plot? Quote?

46 Practice Let’s start to practice again!
