8. This monument, the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial, remembers the 184 souls lost in the terrorist attack at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, when hijacked American Airlines Flight #77 crashed into the Pentagon, killing 59 aboard the flight, and an additional 125 at the Pentagon.
