2  It is originally designed city in the US?  It was built on a ten-mile-square territory?  The site was chosen by George Washington – the first American President and named after him?  D.C. means District of Columbia – a popular name given in the 18th century in honor of Christopher Columbus?

3  The streets running from north to south bear the numbers 1,2,3.. starting from the Capitol ?  The east-west streets are named A,B,C… and major avenues are named after some of the 50 states?  It is one of the most visited cities in the USA(government buildings, museums etc.)?

4  Is the seat of the House of Representatives and the Senate  Before the buildings were constructed (around 1800) Congress met in Philadelphia.  American visitors may obtain passes to the House and Senate galleries from their representatives or senators.

6 The White House has been the residence of every American President except G.Washington. It is open to the public.

7 It is the city´s most famous landmark. It is the tallest structure in W.D.C., about 170m high. It has an observation platform with a panoramic view of the City of Washington D.C.
