1 Required Yearly Trainings
Oklahoma City Community College Community Outreach and Education Required Yearly Trainings Objective: To be able to distinguish the three required trainings of the program.

2 Presentation Flow This presentation will describe the three training requirement categories: Health and Safety Preventing Sexual Violence and Discrimination Professional Development The presentation will also contrast the differences between the training categories. These slides should take 5-10 minutes.

3 Health and Safety Training What is it?
All staff and teaching faculty at OCCC are required to attend one health and safety course every quarter. The quarters of the Fiscal Year are as follows: 1st Quarter: July-September: Blood Borne Pathogens 2nd Quarter: October-December: Hazards Communications 3rd Quarter: January-March: Severe Weather Safety 4th Quarter: April-June: Choose one from three options

4 Health and Safety Training Where is it?
Health and Safety trainings can be completed in two places: Teacher In-Services Fall In-Service is in August Spring In-Service is in January Online through Moodle Employees receive an with instructions and a link to follow from Risk Management. Use your Mineonline login and password to log into Moodle. Tip! You can usually open the training and the quiz simultaneously to save time.

5 Health and Safety Training How do I get paid?
One hour of pay per quarter Four quarters 4 hours total pay Enter all training time under “Other Time Types” in your time entry.

6 Special Notes on Health and Safety
Note:  New employees must complete both Blood-Borne Pathogens and Hazards Communications in the first 30 days of employment. Note:  The health-and-safety- related trainings administered in the public schools are not accepted by OCCC.  OCCC’s trainings are specific to the college; therefore, all employees must complete the OCCC trainings. 7 Preventing Sexual Violence and Discrimination
Title IX training is required by all college employees every year.

8 Preventing Sexual Violence and Discrimination Where is it?
This training can be found in an from WorkPlace Answers. This training can be found in the Employee Portal under My Bookmarks.

9 Preventing Sexual Violence and Discrimination How do I get paid?
1-2 hours per training module 2 training modules Up to 4 hours for the initial training Enter all training time under “Other Time Types” in your time entry.

10 Professional Development Requirements What is it?
Professional Development is: required by the grant, not OCCC training that applies directly to your classroom Examples are: Classroom management Teaching literacy to emergent readers Language Acquisition vs Language Learning Multilevel vocabulary activities It is not: Health and Safety Training Sexual Violence and Discrimination Training

11 Professional Development Where is it?
Teacher In-Services Conferences Webinars Public/Private School Professional Development* * Teachers will not be paid for professional development training completed at other schools.

12 Professional Development Requirements How do I get paid?
15 required points 1 PD point per hour of training Up to 15 paid hours* Enter all training time under “Other Time Types” in your time entry. * Teachers will not be paid for professional development training completed at other schools.
