The native Americans only revolted after the Spanish tried to convert their religion.
They warned the Spanish to leave now or die, but 400 Spanish stayed and were killed.
12 years later the Spanish returned and conquered the territory.
The Indians couldn't retaliate because they didn’t have enough warriors.
