Affiliated to SAYEN & National Adventure Foundation. Recognition Award given by World Bank at Washington DC. Winner of Sita Ram Rao Case study National Competition 2012.

2 VISION & MISSION Vision Mision
To be a leading NGO, spearheading activities for the holistic and sustainable development of the Rural communities of Uttarakhand by promoting the rich heritage of the Himalayas, while at the same time protecting the fragile ecosystem. Mision To contribute to the economic development of the people of Uttarakhand, through various employment generation initiatives which optimizes the available natural resources and skills, keeping in mind the environment sustainability of the Central Himalayan region.

3 Core Activities of the Organisation
Promotion of Ecotourism based Livelihood options and Non- conventional Energy Sources. Sensitization of Local Vaidhyas/Traditional Healers and Documentation of TEK. Formation of 78 SHGs and Fiber User groups and 2 Self reliant cooperatives. Skill upgradation of SHGs working for Natural Fiber (Himalayan Nettle), Dairy, organic pulses and Hill Bamboo/ Ringaal along with the conservation thought. Conservation of Biodiversity, Cultural Heritage and Ecoculture Environment Education and Paryavaran Mitra Program in 800 schools of 4 districts of Uttarakhand. Establishment of Ecotourism Training Center .

Ecotourism Based Trainings fro the Local youths. Registration of Traditional Healers/Vaidhyas and formation CBR & CKR (Community Biodiversity Register/Community Knowledge Register) of 32 village panchayat. Documentation and survey of Fiber Yielding plants in Chamoli Garhwal- SRTT/UBFDB. Paryavaran Mitra Program & Common Wealth Plantation program in 800 Schools. (On-going.) COP Biodiversity Pledge Program - UNDP/CEE- AAGAAS. Establishment of Mother Herbal Garden for the Conservation of Low Altitude Medicinal Plant- UNDP/SGP/GEF/CEE (On-going). Formation and Establishment of Local Traditional Seed Bank . Establishment of Ringaal and Bamboosetum in – AAJIVIKA VATIKA.

7 Proposed Activity For NAVAACHAR Initiative (Community in Harmony with Nature)
Strengthening of Biotourism Park- Low Cost Kitchen and Dinning. Construction of Ecotourism home stay and Huts facility in 2 Villages. Natural Fiber and Hill Bamboo based craft enterprise development in 3 villages – 60 Families. Less Energy Consumption for Cooking Food- Distribution of water heating Hamams and Pressure cooker- for 200 Families. Modernization and Development of Houses for Home Stay- 2 Villages. Introduction of Solar System Demo. And Central Water heating System in BTP for Light and Heating. Strengthening of SHGs through Enterprise marketing and Skill building. Conservation and cultivation of Hill Bamboo/Ringaal and Medicinal plant.

Hands on/ in field training of New prototype development of Bamboo and Natural fiber in 3 village panchayat. Establishment of 2 Marketing outlet cum sale point for Farmers and artisans- will run through the Self Reliant Cooperatives. Marketing and popularization of 4 Major trekking routes around Pipalkoti. Establishment of a Nodal Food Processing facility – For Rhododendron and Seabuckthorn and local fruit and vegetable processing and Nursery for conservation.
