2 Harvest Festival The people in Mexico also celebrate thanksgiving. Their homes are decorated beautifully with fruits and flowers with the theme of the harvest season. They thank God for nature’s bountiful gifts and blessings. Thanksgiving is more than a one time event. The Harvest festival is celebrated at different times of the year for different areas depending on their harvest. People in Mexico value their land, culture, food and blessings.

3 Harvest Festival Activities
The people of Mexico have colorful parades showing off their bountiful harvest and thanking theirs Gods for their blessings of prosperous land. The parade ends at a place of worship to thank their God for their blessings. After the religious service people prepare delicious Authentic meals with the crops from their land to share with the community. There’s a carnival with games, music and folkloric dances for the whole family to enjoy.

The Mochos, an indigenous group in Mexico's southeastern state of Chiapas, put on folk dance and soup banquet this week to pray for harvests and a year of blessings. "We celebrate by dance and feast.   During the festival in October that could be traced to more than a century ago, a cow was usually sacrificed.
